Goblins in the world of the valley exist on the margins, though it seems they were once more widespread than they are today judging by goblin ruins which have been found in the plains.
Goblins are known to worship Sehanine and Pelor and there's no reason to suspect they don't venerate other deities as well. A long-dead goblin adventurer found in Heskaron's Tower Cave had been carrying nautical navigation tools, suggesting a heretofore unknown seafaring element to goblin culture.
Despite a certain low-level prejudice against them, goblins are no more innately belligerent or evil than any other race - in particular Professor Volo of the Tower of Arcane Wisdom should be disregarded on this point. They are not numerous as a people and are largely overlooked or ignored.
There is known to be conflict between the dwarven miners of Vakarune and goblins living in the mountains to the north.
