TECHNICAL NOTES: UMBRA

The OCCASUS detachment stationed at Harmëntir under Major Shiraevel have begun work on extraction of the UMBRA material and assets located in the ravine to the North-West. The Major is keen to press forward into the far reaches of the ravine, using SITE EMERALD as a beachhead from which to explore further. The visions left to us by the Asteri Elders suggest a candidate site (Codenamed ONYX) deep below ground here. The Major believes it to be a repository of some kind, accessed through one of their tower temples.

The Major has declared the right-hand tunnel beyond SITE EMERALD as out of bounds to regular personnel after yesterday's incidents. Access to ONYX should only be attempted through the left-hand tunnel, unless accompanied by a senior officer and a mage of rank 5 or higher.
Corporals Gelerin and Roasma have been collected up as best we could - as per General Latharas' instructions they will be awarded posthumous Orders of the Sycamore.

Breakthrough! The mages and artificers at ONYX successfully infused UMBRA into a prepared artefact (FELIS apparatus). The artefact remained animated for almost three minutes before exploding. (note to self: notify Private Yethirel's parents and order another Sycamore or two).
