The world of The Valley has no moon and so doesn't divide the year in the same way we do. The different times of the year are divided up between the gods and goddesses worshipped in the world. Most deities are given 28 days, while Pelor and the Raven Queen get larger shares, as the two primary opposing forces in the pantheon. The list below gives dates according to the Gregorian calendar, but the dates and months familiar to us wouldn't mean anything to people in the valley.

Ravenwatch

56 days over the darkest, coldest part of winter. This period is devoted to the Raven Queen, goddess of death. This is also the time of Pelor's voyage to the Raven Queen's dark city at the end of the Black Path.

(calendar equivalent: November 24th - January 18th)

Bright Lamp's Day

A single day standing alone, Bright Lamp's Day is a holiday marking the end of Ravenwatch and a returning of the light to the world. On this day lamps are lit and placed in windows, music is played loudly and friends gather to celebrate.

(calendar equivalent: January 19th)

Moradinstide

When Moradin lights the forges deep beneath the world and warmth begins to return.

(calendar equivalent: January 20th - February 16th)

Avandrastide

Avandra is the goddess of change and opportunity. She brings the buds onto the trees and coaxes the first green shoots from the soil.

(calendar equivalent: February 17th - March 16th)

Corellonstide

Corellon builds on top of the life given to the world by Moradin and Avandra, causing flowers to bloom and baby animals and livestock to be born.

(calendar equivalent: March 17th - April 13th)

Erathistide

This time, devoted to Erathis, celebrates people working together to build and achieve great things.

(calendar equivalent: April 14th - May 11th)

Bahamutstide

A time for putting right the wrongs of previous years, making amends and burying hatchets.

(calendar equivalent: May 12th - June 8th)

Pelor's Blessing

56 days over the summer, a time for animals to graze, for field crops to grow and fruit to swell on the trees.

(calendar equivalent: June 9th - August 3rd)

Melorastide

Melora is the goddess of the wild, and this time marks the end of summer and the coming of autumn. The end of Melorastide is traditionally harvest time.

(calendar equivalent: August 4th - August 31st)

Kordstide

A time of changing weather and storms in the mountains.

(calendar equivalent: September 1st - September 28th)

Starstide

Sehanine's starlit nights draw in. Plans for the new year are discussed, preparations are made for winter and whispered voices carry through the growing shadows.

(calendar equivalent: September 29th - October 26th)

Iounstide

A time of prophecy, when Ioun's worshippers look to the year ahead and try to forsee the future.

(calendar equivalent: October 27th - November 23rd)
