Black Crag
A mountaintop on a map in the Woods End Fort.
Bordered by the mountains and the Kurin forest to the north, and wild wind-swept moors to the south, the village of Black Crag nestles in the foothills, at the base of a large pale grey peak capped by a dark-coloured summit. Hunters track wild deer in the forested hills above, while visiting trophy hunters look for more monstrous quarry in the mountains.
Other hunters wander in the southern moors, and some limited agriculture takes place here though the landscape is unsuitable for much beyond sheep farming. Barley is grown in fields downslope from the village but at a subsistence level. Yields aren't great, but there is enough to provide a backup food source, and to allow the production of beer and grain spirits. Several farms have their own stills.
Upslope from the village are forested foothills, beyond which is a clear mountain lake - Dariss Tarn - stocked with fish.
There are no inns, taverns or hotels in Black Crag, on the basis that the place is seldom visited by outsiders. The hunting lodge may offer accommodation to passing travelers, most visitors to Black Crag stay with friends or family members in the village.
If Black Crag has any kind of leaders, it would be the va Geshi family - half-elves who own one of the larger farms and hunt in the foothills.
