Kassiter MidWinter Festival

A 4 night festival of music and arts that takes advantage of the long, warm winter nights in Kassiter. The brainchild, and funded by Pasha Zulma. It takes the form of 4 nights of demonstrations from various artificers, magic users and musicians, each night culminating with a musical performance by a popular bardic group at the Damukhet Sazzarin Stadium.

The Official version of Events

On the second night of the festival, during the set of Deep Octarine, without warning a Wraith rose from the sea, and started to make it's way through the docks and into the city - seemingly making a beeline for the inner city. Anyone who stood in it's way was quickly dispatched and raised as a spectre. After a couple of hours the wraith paused in it's destruction, then turned around and returned from wence it came, leaving city leaders at a loss to explain what had happened.

Many guards and brave citizens fought to protect the city from the invasion, with many loosing their lives. Amongst the dead were Jasterin, Dasterin, and Spuggy Marengo of The Underdarkness who died bravely defending their city.

Embodying the very spirit of "The Show Must Go On", Blynde Dyrwülf, offered to play on the third night and on the forth night, instead, organise members of all the bands into a tribute for The Underdarkness and for all the fallen of the terrbile events of the second night.

Taking the stage on the forth night, Luta Ford commemmorated the dead, leading the crowd in a minutes silence, before her, the rest of Blynde Dyrwülf, Together with Hallie and the Harpies, Deep Octarine and Sashkat and Terbeo, the remaining members of The Underdarkness launched into a set of The Underdarkness's Greatest hits, finishing with a 20 minute version of "I believe in a Thing Called Lolth!" the likes of which had never been, and will never be seen again.

Although marred by tradegy, the 2666 Midwinter Festival certainly ended with a bang and will be talked about for years to come.
