The fox people are a civilisation outside the Valley. Little evidence of their culture has been found so far - signs of their presence have been found at two sites, both of which are marked by carved stone fox statues in the woodland. The statues are around two feet tall and could be overlooked in thick undergrowth. Both of these sites were discovered during a southern exploration described by Briar at further adventures and investigations...

Fox site one - the ruined temple to Ioun

Briar, Brys, Effie, Kallista and Xyrxina discovered a ruined temple in the woods to the east of the Temple of Healing. The ruins were marked with a stone arch bearing the symbol of Ioun, the goddess of knowledge, skill and prophecy (see Ioun). Through the arch is an overgrown stone floor with inlaid mosaic designs showing the temple in its original form, with a tall white tower clearly mimicking the Builder style. Beneath the mosaic floor was a hidden chamber which may once have been a library, with an inscription on the wall.

The inscription could be read by Kallista owing to her warlock abilities. The translated inscription reads:

‘Hatan’ the day’s work has begun, following the steps of the long ago ones. We hear their words, we sing their songs. Sealed in white against the night. Blessed Ioun shows the way, sing ’Sonjon!’ at the end of the day.

Fox site two - Entatrataan woodland

A large number of fox statues were found in the woods near Entatrataan. The fox people clearly discovered Entatrataan at some point, as many of the fox statues were found around, and pointing towards, the Builder site.
