The air seems to be filled with fungal spores which seem to be slightly hallucinogenic and might be flammable!

 minutes down the tunnel and it ends at an enormous almost spherical void.   Partly natural, partly worked, it's filled with houses, temples, lights, lanterns.   It is filled with music, noise of mining machinery and tools.  There are pools of water in the distance.   There appear to be neat rows of plants, which look like an orchard.  There is a vast pit surrounded with a fence in the middle of the builings.
 This is the Upper Delvings, a small city underground.
