Possibly based on the smaller [[Guardians]], the Blood Guardians are Builder technology enhanced with elven magic.

Standing on six legs, these black spider-like constructs have a round body topped by a weapon turret "head" covered in a cluster of blue and black [[Bolt|bolts]]. Fast and deadly, they have a necrotic ray, as well as a thunder weapon to deal with attackers at close range.

Around the body of the Blood Guardians, written in golden elven letters is the text "Grow strong: Drink deep of life, in the name of our Queen" - this is made more disturbing by the fact that after attacking with its necrotic ray and draining its victim's life force, the Blood Guardian's black bolts run red with blood.
