The world of [[The Valley]] has no moon and so doesn't divide the year in the same way we do. The different times of the year are divided up between the gods and goddesses worshipped in the world. Most deities are given 28 days, while Pelor and the Raven Queen get larger shares, as the two primary opposing forces in the pantheon. The list below gives dates according to the Gregorian calendar, but the dates and months familiar to us wouldn't mean anything to people in the valley.

==Ravenwatch==

56 days over the darkest, coldest part of winter. This period is devoted to the Raven Queen, goddess of death. This is also the time of Pelor's voyage to the Raven Queen's dark city at the end of the Black Path.

The Blight Wood is a stretch of forest between [[The Temple of Power]] and [[Klippika village]]. The first party to reach Klippika camped at the edge of this forest and were attacked in the middle of the night by ''Twig Blights'', small vicious plant-creatures which looked like animated twig homunculi. There is a hatch inside it which, when unlocked by a blue [[Bolt]], leads to some [[Builder Tunnels]].

According to the elves at [[Klippika village]], the forest is under the malign influence of a cursed tree at its centre.

Creller Pass

A haunted mountain pass between [[Halda]] and towards [[Duhlmora]]. The small town of [[Creller]] is roughly half a days travel into the pass.

The road is clearly marked. It’s not always paved but it is cleared. Every 5 mins or so (on horseback) there’s a 15’ dark blue wooden post with religious symbols and a raven on top to mark the path. The gods being invoked are [[Introduction#Melora|Melora]] (similar to the signs found in the halfling hut on the island in the lake on the way back from [[Klippika]]. Melora is the goddess of nature and wilderness) and the Raven Queen (goddess of natural death. [[Kazkan]] the goblin mentioned her and the myth of [[The black path]]). There are several forest paths / hunting trails that lead off into the wooded hillsides and some of these lead towards [[Heskaron's tower]].

A golden city twists, warps and falls. A fiery golden sky blazes and a black cloud rises. Structures the size of large buildings fall from the air and crash to the ground. The Builders flee the oncoming cataclysm. Some of the Builders convulse horribly, though what afflicts them nobody knows.

The monks at the [[Ikata monastery]] in the snowy mountains tell of [[Ikata]], a water dragon who fell from the heavens in the days of the goldfire, when [[The Black Path]] danced red with spirits. Where Ikata fell, a great lake was formed.

The elf queen [[Moranna]] leads her people from the lands across the [[The Southern Sea|southern sea]] to [[The Plains]], and establishes a settlement at [[Klippika]]. The exact date of the crossing is not known, the current queen of [[Klippika]], [[Merielle]], describes it as being in the time of her grandmother's grandmother, Queen [[Moranna]].

King [[Heskeron]] of [[Sesseran]], now obsessed with a quest for eternal life, betrays his councillors and murders them at [[Heskaron's Tower|his mountaintop tower]] high above the [[Creller Pass]]. The murders are part of an arcane ritual which backfires, dooming [[Heskeron]] to eternal undeath.

==-15 to -10==
[[The Quiet Wood]] is suddenly infested by giant spiders and a small woodland village of [[Introduction#Melora|Melora]] worshippers is overran and left to ruin. This village is now [[Aldalorna]]

==Year Zero==
The dwarven map is discovered deep in the mines in the west of the valley. Treasure hunters and explorers begin to plan expeditions over drinks in [[The Lakeside Inn]]

===Early spring===

The first expedition leaves the valley. [[Bran]], [[Briar]], [[Kallista]], [[Sariel]] and [[Torvar]] follow a tunnel from the valley down to [[The Plains]] and follow the river down to a sandy bluff three days south, where they find a gnome village called [[Riverglade]] and a mysterious tower at a place called [[Entatratashan]]. Along the way they are ambushed by a bear while camping in the woods and attacked by giant frogs in [[The Swamp]] north of [[Entatratashan]]. A second expedition leaves the following day, heading out to a mysterious location in low hills a few days south of the valley. The five adventurers who undertook that journey were [[Alagos]], [[Helgrethe]], [[Maiva]], [[Whisper]] and [[Yirisel]]. When the five never returned home, a rescue party made up of [[Aila]], [[Briar]], [[Dramble]], [[Sariel]] and [[Torvar]] was sent out after them and discovered [[The Temple of Healing]], where they were ambushed by a band of [[Kenku]]. After defeating the Kenku, the rescue party found the bodies of the missing adventurers and three fallen Kenku set out for a sky burial at the top of the hill above the [[Temple of Healing]]. [[Birel]], [[Bran]], [[Dramble]], [[Tagariel]] and [[Taika]] take a short journey west into [[The Quiet Wood]], where they find evidence of an overgrown path which hasn't been maintained in between ten and fifteen years, judging by the size of the young trees growing on it. Pressing further into the woods they discover a ruined village, [[The Temple of Power]] and a nest of giant spiders. The nest is sealed, the party activate the power systems at the temple and discover a [[Remote Working Station]] which allows operators to inhabit the stone bodies of nearby [[Waldo Statues]].

A month later, a fifth expedition made up of [[Aila]], [[Bran]], [[Birel]] and [[Newt]] venture out into the plains once more, this time leaving the path of the river and striking out across the grasslands to a distant ring of six crags. On the way to the crags they visit [[The Quiet Wood]] and are pleased to see life returning to it after the spiders from [[The Temple of Power]] were sealed away. They also discover a nearby tower which they name [[The Tower of Observation]]. Stopping overnight on the edge of [[The Blight Wood]], they are attacked by vine blights but fend them off. [[Aila]], [[Birel]], [[Kallista]] and [[Tagariel]] set out to try and find [[Entatratradesh]], traveling via [[Klippika]] and [[Riverglade]]. At Riverglade the party discovered that the gnomes had been busy investigating the nearby tower at [[Entatratashan]], including setting up workshops, scaffolding and viewing platforms. On the way to Entatratradesh the party encountered a [[Kobold]] den, shrieking fungi and mechanical [[Guardians]] in the underground tunnels. Calling off their exploration of the underground cave/tunnel system, they returned to Entatratashan and managed to activate the teleport gateway within the tower, travelling to a distant snowy mountain peak and another Builder structure named [[Taurtaikatanur]].

They cross the river and find a submerged Builder artifact (possibly a machine of some kind) at [[The Meander]], a hidden room beneath the [[Fox people|Temple to Ioun]], and discover the existence of a goblin city called [[Qaratta]] in the hills south of the [[The Temple of Healing|Temple of Healing]]. They return home with a strange [[Stone Spheres|stone sphere]] marked with Builder glyphs.

Instead they discover the new Elven villages of [[Aldalorna]] and [[Halda]], traverse the [[Creller Pass]] to [[Creller]] and learn of the ancient [[Sesseran]] nation and their doomed King [[Heskaron]]. While exploring the haunted [[Creller Pass]] they encounter [[Skeleton|Skeletons]], [[Zombie|Zombies]], [[Draughr]] and [[Spectres]] and discover a ruined [[Temple of Asteri]] in the mountains beneath [[Heskaron's Tower]]. They don't make it to the tower, but rubbings collected by [[Dramble]] allow [[Brys]] and [[Effi]] to create a codex for reading the written language used by the [[Children of Asteri]] and [[Fox people]].

The elf queen [[Moranna]] leads her people from the lands across the [[The Southern Sea|southern sea]] to [[The Plains]], and establishes a settlement at [[Klippika]]. The exact date of the crossing is not known, the current queen of [[Klippika]], [[Merielle]], describes it as being in the time of her grandmother's grandmother, Queen [[Moranna]].

King [[Heskeron]] of [[Sesseran]], now obsessed with a quest for eternal life, betrays his councillors and murders them at [[Heskaron's Tower|his mountaintop tower]] high above the [[Creller Pass]]. The murders are part of an arcane ritual which backfires, dooming [[Heskeron]] to eternal undeath.

[[The Quiet Wood]] is suddenly infested by giant spiders and a small woodland village of [[Introduction#Melora|Melora]] worshippers is overran and left to ruin. This village is now [[Aldalorna]]

The dwarven map is discovered deep in the mines in the west of the valley. Treasure hunters and explorers begin to plan expeditions over drinks in [[The Lakeside Inn]]

The first expedition leaves the valley. [[Bran]], [[Briar]], [[Kallista]], [[Sariel]] and [[Torvar]] follow a tunnel from the valley down to [[The Plains]] and follow the river down to a sandy bluff three days south, where they find a gnome village called [[Riverglade]] and a mysterious tower at a place called [[Entatratashan]]. Along the way they are ambushed by a bear while camping in the woods and attacked by giant frogs in [[The Swamp]] north of [[Entatratashan]]. A second expedition leaves the following day, heading out to a mysterious location in low hills a few days south of the valley. When the five never returned home, a rescue party made up of [[Aila]], [[Briar]], [[Dramble]], [[Sariel]] and [[Torvar]] was sent out after them and discovered [[The Temple of Healing]], where they were ambushed by a band of [[Kenku]]. After defeating the Kenku, the rescue party found the bodies of the missing adventurers and three fallen Kenku set out for a sky burial at the top of the hill above the [[Temple of Healing]]. Pressing further into the woods they discover a ruined village, [[The Temple of Power]] and a nest of giant spiders. The nest is sealed, the party activate the power systems at the temple and discover a [[Remote Working Station]] which allows operators to inhabit the stone bodies of nearby [[Waldo Statues]].

On the way to the crags they visit [[The Quiet Wood]] and are pleased to see life returning to it after the spiders from [[The Temple of Power]] were sealed away. They also discover a nearby tower which they name [[The Tower of Observation]]. Stopping overnight on the edge of [[The Blight Wood]], they are attacked by vine blights but fend them off. At Riverglade the party discovered that the gnomes had been busy investigating the nearby tower at [[Entatratashan]], including setting up workshops, scaffolding and viewing platforms. On the way to Entatratradesh the party encountered a [[Kobold]] den, shrieking fungi and mechanical [[Guardians]] in the underground tunnels. Calling off their exploration of the underground cave/tunnel system, they returned to Entatratashan and managed to activate the teleport gateway within the tower, travelling to a distant snowy mountain peak and another Builder structure named [[Taurtaikatanur]].

They don't make it to the tower, but rubbings collected by [[Dramble]] allow [[Brys]] and [[Effi]] to create a codex for reading the written language used by the [[Children of Asteri]] and [[Fox people]].

Klippika is a site in [[The Plains]] which can be seen from [[Kazkan's Farm]]. It is a ring of six tall conical crags which surround a central circular lake. It is considered a holy site by the elves of [[Klippika village]], who associate it with the god [[Introduction#Corellon|Corellon]]. A group of worshippers known as [[The Watchers of the Water]] maintain a vigil at the lakeside, led by the high priestess [[Quelenna]], who is the only person permitted to enter the holy waters. The vigil watches for "Corellon's Stars", blue-white lights which can be seen moving around deep below the surface of the water on certain nights.

The crags themselves are about 300' high, and are shaped like smooth cones with rounded tops. They're made of what looks like a dark grey stone, but it still has a slightly metallic sheen to it. For some reason, they look grown, rather than built. The hexagon they form is about 1200' across, and the Elves had put up 30' high poles between the crags to string their banners from.

In the spaces between the six crags are strung dark blue banners bearing the white star of Corellon, as well as small bells which chime in the wind. One side of the site is kept clear of banners, where the road comes in from Klippika village.

The pool in the middle is circular, quite shallow at the edge, getting deeper towards the middle, before plunging into a deep funnel at the centre.

Creller Pass

A haunted mountain pass between [[Halda]] and towards [[Duhlmora]]. The small town of [[Creller]] is roughly half a days travel into the pass.

The road is clearly marked. It’s not always paved but it is cleared. Every 5 mins or so (on horseback) there’s a 15’ dark blue wooden post with religious symbols and a raven on top to mark the path. The gods being invoked are [[Introduction#Melora|Melora]] (similar to the signs found in the halfling hut on the island in the lake on the way back from [[Klippika]]. Melora is the goddess of nature and wilderness) and the Raven Queen (goddess of natural death. [[Kazkan]] the goblin mentioned her and the myth of [[The black path]]). There are several forest paths / hunting trails that lead off into the wooded hillsides and some of these lead towards [[Heskaron's tower]].

The pass is haunted due to the atrosoties done by [[Heskaron]] leading to the site being plagued by [[Skeletons]], [[Zombies]], [[Draughr]] and [[Spectres]]. The pass road seems relatively safe during day light, but is very dangerous at night.

There is a collection of Standing Stones or Monoliths at the Eastern edge of [[The Blightwood]]. This was spotted by [[Brys]], [[Effi]], [[Tagariel]], [[Kallista]] and [[Xyrxina]] but never visited

It was visited by [[Aila]], [[Birel]], [[Briar]], [[Krithra]] and [[Dramble]]
The monument consisted of three stone pillars, each ten feet high, supporting a large disc of stone. [[Aila]] recognised the spirals on the pillars as symbols of [[Introduction#Melora|Melora]], goddess of nature and the wilderness. “That explains all the wildflowers” she remarked. Indeed, the whole area was surrounded by flowers. There was also a hut there, of human scale.

These are sentry robots created by the [[Builders]], and named "Guardians" by [[Tagariel]]. They are made of a blue-grey metal and have three arms and six scuttly spider legs. They are equipped with three spears and can project a cone of light that temporarily blinds its target.

Guardians contain blue and orange [[Bolt]]s, which can be recovered from them after they have been defeated.

Entatrataan is a [[Builders|Builder]] site. It consists of a circular tower, 20ft. across, and a large number of mostly buried [[Waldo Statues]]. Many of the statues appear distressed, and it is possible that some form of catastrophic event happened near these statues. This may have been a landslide or earthquake. There is also a damaged transportation circle.
